Beta Gamma Sigma Inducts 58 New Members in 2025 Ceremony

Beta Gamma Sigma, a prestigious international business honor society housed in the Poole College of Management, hosted its 2025 induction ceremony on April 1. This year’s inductees include 58 undergraduate and graduate students as well as four faculty members who will serve as the chapter’s advisors.

“Beta Gamma Sigma inductees are impressive: so intelligent, gifted and energetic,” said Karlyn Mitchell, associate professor of finance and NC State Beta Gamma Sigma chapter advisor.  “They will significantly impact the businesses where they work and the communities where they live. Celebrating their academic successes at the induction ceremony with family and friends was delightful. Congratulations, Beta Gamma Sigma inductees!”

Poole College Dean Frank Buckless echoed this sentiment in his remarks at the event, saying, “This recognition is not only a testament to your hard work and dedication
but also reflects your commitment to academic excellence.

“This year alone,” he continued, “we received over 8,300 applications for approximately 550 undergraduate spots, highlighting the exceptional talent and dedication of our students.”

“This recognition is not only a testament to your hard work and dedication
but also reflects your commitment to academic excellence.”

Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is an honor society that recognizes business students committed to academic excellence. As a lifelong organization, it promotes leadership and professional growth among its members, guided by the core values of honor, integrity, wisdom, earnestness, and service.

With more than 600 collegiate chapters, as well as alumni chapters and networking groups all over the world, Beta Gamma Sigma is a truly global organization with endless educational and career opportunities.

The NC State chapter was founded in 2001 with membership extended to juniors and seniors who are in the top 10% of their class, top 20% of master’s students and all business doctoral students.
