Nexus Hub 2024 Wrap-Up: A Happy Holidays Message

2024 is finally coming to a close, wrapping up all the excitement, festivities, video games, movies, anime, tech, and more that delighted us, excited us, and made us feel during the year. With 2025 on the horizon, the Nexus Hub team has a few words to close the book on 2024 and usher in the New Year.

Over the past decade, Nexus Hub has grown to become more than just the spot for video game, board game and anime enthusiasts to find their passions and hobbies. Through connections, establishing new concepts and pushing the boundaries for South African gaming and tech, Nexus Hub evolved into something much more close-knit – our teams of writers, retail representatives, and everyone in-between that has impacted us emotionally, professionally and beyond. In the wise words of Mr. Diesel, it’s a family.

Our family could not exist without the great support from everyone in the community, so this is a heartfelt thank you from me, Sam the bumbling chief editor, and everyone at Nexus Hub. Your support means the world to us and we hope that you’ll continue to follow us on our journey as we explore the wonderful digital and tabletop worlds that we love so much.

As the year ends, we’re also looking toward the future at some exciting new adventures. But first, let’s take a look back at 2024…

The Game Awards

For the third year in a row, Nexus Hub has proudly been one of two South African platforms that form part of the jury for Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards, now the most-watched awards show not just in gaming but in the entire entertainment industry!

Being part of such a massive international event has been an incredible honour and huge achievement for the team.

A New Quest

We’re excited to announce that in 2025, Nexus Hub will be going on a new quest – SideQuest. We can’t share too much information on this new venture right now, but we recommend you visit the site’s landing page here to sign up and be notified when your SideQuest will begin!

Operating Hours

Our retail stores will remain open throughout the holiday season with some closing dates to keep in mind.

The Nexus Hub venue will be closed on the 25th and 26th December 2024 as well as the 1st and 2nd January 2025. Normal operating hours will be in effect on all other days (9-5pm weekdays and 9-3pm Saturday and Sundays). Come visit us at 21 Harley Street, Ferndale, Randburg!
